Female Pool

The Female Pool was the smallest pool - 25 yards long but only 30 ft wide. It is little altered from its original state. You can still see the brass handrails and brass overflow troughs. There are steps leading down into the pool.

Around the pool are the original changing cubicles with solid wooden doors in cast iron frames with red and white striped curtains above. Inside each changing cubicle is a small triangular shelf. In the 1930's you could pay 1d to the attendant when you came out of the pool. She would then bring a hot Bovril and pass it through the curtain onto this shelf as you were getting dressed.
