First Class Males Wash Baths (Slipper Baths) |
|||
| There
were First Class Males wash baths here. When Victoria Baths was built many
houses did not have a bathroom. You could use a tin bath or come to a public
baths like Victoria Baths for a "real bath" - the luxury of a
deep bath with lots of hot water. In 1936 the First Class wash baths cost
5d, compared with the Second Class wash baths which cost 3d. The First Class wash baths and cubicles have now gone, replaced by a changing area for swimmers. |
