Take the opportunity to visit Victoria Baths and see for yourself this architectural gem which is undergoing restoration back to its former Edwardian glory. Victoria Baths is open as a heritage visitor attraction, arts and community venue, from March/April to November each year.

Weekly Guided Tours
From April to October there is a guided tour of Victoria Baths every Wednesday, starting promptly at 2pm. Cost is £5 for adults(Gift Aid price £5.50); children and Friends of Victoria Baths are free. You don't need to book. Doors open at 1.40pm; light refreshments and souvenirs are on sale before and after the tour. Wednesday tours run every week until Wednesday 26th October. |
Monthly Open Days
Open Days are held on the first Sunday of each month from April to November, 12 noon to 4pm. Guided tours run throughout the afternoon, no need to book - just turn up and allow plenty of time for your visit. Hot and cold refreshments including light lunches are available and our shop sells a variety of souvenirs. Admission is £2 for adults (Gift Aid price £2.50); children and Friends of Victoria Baths free. There is no additional charge for guided tours.

Heritage Open Days
The Baths is open for National Heritage Open Days 2011 on Friday 9th, Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September, from 11am to 5pm each day. On Saturday and Sunday, the Sports Hall will be full of Meccano Models brought to us by the North West Meccano Guild. There will guided tours of the building running regularly throughout Heritage Open Days and our cafe and shop are open for lunches and hot and cold drinks. Admission for National Heritage Open Days is free - we welcome donations to our Building Fund

What you can see
At Open Days at Victoria Baths there is access to all the main parts of the building. You can view the results of Restoration Phase 1 and Retoration Phase 1+:
* The beautifully restored front facade
* Stained glass windows including the six sportsmen and the Angel of Purity
* The Turkish baths suite which has undergone structural repairs
* A long-hidden, now restored glass block pavement
* The restored Gala pool roof
Free guided tours run throughout the afternoon at our Open Days, enabling you to learn something of the history of Victoria Baths and its restoration. You can also visit lesser known parts of the building including the boiler house, water treatment room and the undercroft of the pools. You don't need to book in advance for guided tours - just turn up and allow plenty of time for your visit. |

Each of our Open Days also features a special event. 2011 Open Days will include Vintage Fairs, performances and other delights:
Sunday 3rd April - a Vintage Fai,r open from 10am
Sunday 1st May - a Fanzine workshop, drop-in all afternoon, open to all ages
Sunday 5th June - performance by Ordsall Acappella Singers, 1.30 - 3pm
Sunday 3rd July - a Vintage Fair, open from 10am
Sunday 7th August - Family art workshop, all afternoon
Sunday 4th September - View stained glass panels being made plus a small art exhibition
Sunday 2nd October - a Vintage Fair, open from 10am
Sunday 6th November - performance by Abney Orchestra, 1.30 - 3pm |
Memory Corner, films and displays
Our History Team are always keen to hear your memories of Victoria Baths if you used to swim, dance or work here. We have a selection of memories and other items from our History Archive on display at Wednesday tours and Open Days. There are also other historical displays and on Open Days you can view short films including archive footage of the Baths.

There is a free children's trail of Victoria Baths and family tours run at most of our Open Days. Our special events are designed for a family audience. |

Victoria Baths is on Hathersage Road, Chorlton-on-Medlock, Manchester, M13 0FE Click here to view map.
There is ramped access to Victoria Baths . There are no lifts internally but most of the building can be seen from the ground floor.
We are currently working on improved toilet facilities. At present there is no fully wheelchair accessible toilet.
