Volunteering

At Victoria Baths, we depend upon our fantastic team of volunteers. Thanks to their enthusiasm and generosity, we are able to keep this iconic building open to the public, and to ensure its future.

Victoria Baths is the setting for a range of exciting events throughout the year, and there are lots of different ways to get involved. Whether you love the idea of volunteering at our busy public Open Days, or would like to help with building maintenance, administration or other behind the scenes tasks, we have a volunteer role to interest you. We welcome new volunteers all year round.

Who can volunteer?

Anyone can volunteer at Victoria Baths, so no matter what your skills, experience or background, we’d love to hear from you. For most roles all you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

We appreciate that some people are able to donate more of their time than others. We have a range of flexible opportunities available, and you can choose to make a regular commitment or simply help out on an occasional basis.

What will I get out of volunteering?

Whether you want to develop new skills and enhance your CV, or just want to have fun and meet new people whilst supporting Victoria Baths, there are lots of good reasons to volunteer with us.

Our volunteers also enjoy a range of extra benefits:

  • free membership of the VB Friends, with regular updates about events and restoration
  • free entry to Wednesday tours and on our Open Days throughout the season

Whichever opportunity interests you, as a volunteer at VB you will receive plenty of support to help you get the most out of your volunteering experience.

What opportunities are available?

There are many ways to get involved, whether you want to engage with visitors face to face or prefer a more behind the scenes role. Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Greeting visitors at the Welcome Desk, in the Shop and Tea Room
  • Learning to give public tours
  • Helping behind the scenes, e.g. with office administration and events organisation
  • Cleaning, gardening and other practical tasks
  • Becoming part of our Local History Group

We are currently recruiting for the following roles:
