The Victoria Baths Trust

When the Victoria Baths were closed in 1993, local people began to campaign for it to be re-opened for public use.

The Manchester Victoria Baths Trust was set up by local residents to pursue the aim of re-opening the Baths. The Trust is a company limited by guarantee (Co Number 2841292), a registered charity (Charity Number 1026351) and a member of the Association of Building Preservation Trusts.

The Trust is supported in its work by the Friends of Victoria Baths.

Since its inception, the Trust has raised over £40,000 in grants to explore the feasibility of re-opening the Baths. It has negotiated with the city council on the handover of the Baths, hence becoming licensees of Victoria Baths so that the Trust is now responsible for the building on a day to day basis. Working in partnership with other local organizations the Trust has submitted two major bids towards work on the Baths and launched a public appeal for funds to support the grants which will fund its restoration.

The Trust has received funding from:

English Heritage
The A6 Partnership
The Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
The Architectural Heritage Fund
The Heritage Lottery Fund
The Restoration Fund
You can increase the Trust's chances of saving Victoria Baths by making a regular donation or a one-off donation.
