Kantos presents ‘Drop, Drop’
Performing in the incredible Victoria Baths, Kantos Chamber Choir creates a pool of sound to envelop the audience.
Returning with the second concert in their 'Unlocked' series, Kantos presents an a capella programme seamlessly woven together with new music composed especially for the occasion by Shruthi Rajasekar. The choir will perform in and around the Victoria Baths, creating a pool of sound to envelop the listener.
With music by Palestrina, Walton, Whitacre, Gibbons, Mealor, Hildegard von Bingen and more, the choir delivers a stunning array of music from the 11th century right through to the present day. The concert explores themes of water and thirsting for change.
Afternoon AND evening performances
There will be two performances - the first at 2pm and the second at 7pm.
More about Kantos Choir
Kantos Chamber Choir was founded in 2015 by Ellie Slorach. The choir comprises the top choral singers across the North who have begun or are about to begin their professional careers. Kantos has rapidly risen to the forefront of choral singing in Manchester and the North West.
They shake up the long-standing tradition of choral music by presenting well-known works in new and innovative ways and by championing new choral music.
In addition to their own concerts, Kantos regularly records for BBC Radio (Daily Service and Sunday Worship programmes) and performs and records with orchestras including the BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and Northern Ballet Sinfonia.
